Treatment Options:
- Inserts
- Surgery

Inserts:
- Simply are only effective in controlling the flexible flatfoot
- Rigid flatfeet and severely pronated feet seldom tolerate inserts

Surgical Options:
- Achilles lengthening of some type and variety
- Calcaneal osteotomies to address the dominant plane
- Arthroresis (6-10 years of age)
- Isolated fusions to address DJD or tarsal coalition


Calcaneal Osteotomies (primary plane of correction):
- Evans (transverse)
- Sliding (frontal or sagittal)

Fusions:
- Subtalar (frontal)
- Talonavicular (frontal and transverse)
- Triple (all)
- Medial column (sagittal)

Right foot was corrected with Evans calcaneal osteotomy and left foot is prior to surgery. Comparison is dramatic.
