Ankle and Foot Conditions #2

A. Douglas Spitalny, DPM

Soft tissue Mass

Soft tissue masses are varied in appearance and symptoms.  Luckily, the overwhelming number of masses in and on the foot are benign.  Rarely are masses malignant.

Like ganglionic cysts, masses are often asymptomatic until they get large enough that they compress a nerve.  All masses should undergo and MRI.  MRI's are critical for surgical planning.
